What is the agent simulator?

The rostrvm agent simulator (also referred to as guiload) is a rostrvm process that can be run with the rostrvm server software or as a standalone client application in order to emulate a number of agents that can handle call, email and chat contacts. It emulates agents by simulating the appropriate telephone and contact requests and events normally associated with a client application (i.e. AdVisor) when using an Invex system.

Why would I need to use the agent simulator?

You should never need to run the agent simulator in a normal live environment.  However, if you are system testing or demonstrating a rostrvm system you may wish to test or present various Manager reports and displays that require MIS data for contacts involving a number of rostrvm agents.  The agent simulator facilitates this requirement.

What skills do I need to be able to use the agent simulator?

Users are able to access the simulator configuration through a number of windows, menus, and buttons provided by rostrvm Manager. It is assumed that you are familiar with the concepts of windows, especially with terms such as menus, buttons, and list boxes. It is further assumed that you are familiar with the telephony concepts and services provided by rostrvm and the agent applications.
