The diagram below shows, in simplified terms, how the agent simulator fits within the rostrvm system.

 

In order to provide a means of flexibly testing multiple client (agent) applications against the whole of the rostrvm API, a contact simulator is provided to take the place of the gateway and the switch and provides a complete set of automated responses.  To allow multiple agent client application to be emulated, the agent simulator can be used to provide a complete set of automated requests.

These tools used together provide an automated means of testing and demonstrating rostrvm in a multiple agent call centre environment.  In basic terms, the agent simulator emulates the rostrvm agents, and the contact simulator emulates the customer telephones.

The agent load test harness is delivered as part of the standard rostrvm installation, but is only available for use if it is included in the licence key.
